Overall, this looks really awesome! I've been itching to write a constructive review for a while, so please excuse if this comes off as un-needed or pretentious in any way. Just trying to offer some helpful insights and refine my critique process.

Perspective - The horizon doesn't quite line up straight across the picture, but that could be because of an un-even terrain, so not a huge deal.

Foreshortening - Seems stunningly accurate. Every feature looks perfectly sized, and nothing looks too big or too small in relation to its placement.

Outfit / Character Design - Pretty neat since you were going for a futuristic military outfit. It compliments her nicely. Maybe needs a little more protective equipment, though? Not sure what I'm saying, but when I picture a 'military' outfit, I think of a plethora of tools and equipment to fend off threats and potential combat. At least an arrow quiver?

Composition - Nicely centered - can't say anything negative about your choices.

Light Source - Her hair is the only thing that is bugging me. It should be backed in a bright outline, because the sunset it directly behind her. Technically speaking, it would probably be blocking any sunlight from reaching her face, too.

Background - I really appreciate that you put so much detail into the background. Most people just cheap out and do something thought-less or simple. Kudos for making it interact with your character!

Linhishyra responds:

Au contraire, thanks a lot for the review, that's the idea behind a community, I agree with your thoughts (specially the one about the quiver which I totally forgot XD) I thought that blocking all light will make it look too dark or plain in colours, but you are completely right, thank you very much, and I mean it, since it comes from someone with real knowledge ove this things.

(The only thing I found pretentious was the knukle craking, but may be just because it scared me XD, JK, LOLed about it)

Read you around Sab.

OMG YES <3

Why hasn't anyone done this before?
Lovin' your style in general. You have a knack for zombie grunge.

What kinda markers did you use for this one?

dommi-fresh responds:

awight sab haven't been on ng for a while nice to see the veterans are still about!
i used a fine black pen and water colour for this little number.
glad you like it

Very inspiring.

Awesome job! You've out-done yourself, yet again!

I now have this urge to try out for the 2013 calendar.. :P
I can imagine that the feeling you get when you're holding your own artwork in published form is pretty groovy-- When do we usually start submitting for that, anyway?

Nekow responds:

The threads usually open up around september over at the forums. Can't believe you haven't submitted anything over the past years!

D'aw.

I'm loving the use of colour in this picture! Not everyone can pull off a pug painting with purples and blues..! Great work!

haeiofjaldnefk responds:

thank ye ma'am

Cool Beans!

Hey! Nice work, for several reasons:
1. You managed to make this using a mouse..!! I'd probably destroy my computer in frustration if I had to work with one these days. lol
2. This is your first major digital art submission..! You're a natural.
3. You seem to have a great sense of colour and value.
4. The composition is really nice - she's nicely framed and centered for our viewing pleasure. c:

If you're really in it for the criticism, I'd be happy to oblige! Just don't take anything I say too personally. I'm not some know-it-all artist who is aiming to sound condescending. It's all just personal opinion aimed at trying to help you. c:

1. She seems to be a little scrunched into the frame, as if you ran out of space to fit in the bottom half of her torso. It might just be the perspective, though. If you only look at the bottom half of her body, I get the feeling that you're looking down at her slightly, so her abs have been foreshortened.

2. Her breasts are a tad un-even, but it's not hugely noticeable.

3. Her left arm (the right one, from our pespective) seems to be attached to her body a with too wide of a shoulder. Her under-arm strikes me as extending downwards a little too much, and almost extends out of her breast.

4. You could add a little shading and highlights under her neck to accentuate her collar bone - in the picture here, she doesn't really have a collar bone.

5. The proportions on the face and head are nicely done. Her right hand (the one behind her head) seems to be a little off. Her wrist is a tad too thin, and you seem to be shying away from drawing her hands alltogehter.. Don't be afraid of hands! They're hard to draw, but you can really get crazy in nude pictures like these. Hands can be all kinds of suggestive.

AshGreat responds:

Thanks. I will make sure to take note of this in my new works.

Holy damn that's awesome.

Please forgive the fact that I'm writing this on a phone and I can't type or spell for shit with these things. It's also 3 in the morning.

Anyway...!

I'm really impressed by everything in your gallery! Nice work! I traced you back from a tweet you left me on twitter a while ago, solely because you struck me as the artsy type. I'm glad I did! You've got some really inspirational stuff.

Full scores from me! :)

Pegosho responds:

Thanks Sab! You are really talented I must say, you even own at pixel art, that's always a plus for me. :)

Btw, I'm not THAT artsy (at least i don't look like one.), I've just been learning about colors recently and I'm hooked! You should definitely try split complementary and double complementary, that's where the action is!........omg, I'm arsty! >_<

Keep rockin' Sab!

That looks Nekow-tastic! B:
