Very excited to get back into the convention circuit this year! Here's what I'm fully confirmed for in terms of markets, conventions, and other misc. artist alleys. If you're not familiar with my work, I set up little table booths to sell my artwork all over Canada the the US about 15-20 times per year and that's one of the ways I work independently as an artist!

When I'm not doing conventions, then I open up my Etsy store and sell art there.

I opened up my Etsy store today! I've been very busy over the winter learning all kinds of new print media and now you can purchase some of it!

My shop only opens for a week or two semi-annually, since I do a lot of comic cons / artist alleys / markets in person. Everything that you'd see at my booth is pretty much up on Etsy though, so if you've been eye-ing anything like my knife crow pins, holographic stickers, or monster girl art prints, I'm posting all of that!

I just realized I've been selling my art at comic cons and artist alleys for more than 10 years!

Here's what my first tables looked like in 2013... (note the hand cut PVC pipe construction from home depot)

The overall look of my art has changed so drastically since then!

I started with nothing but a binder full of prints, posters, buttons, and MAYBE stickers back then. (Everybody has to start somewhere!)

And here's one of my more recent Artist Alley tables from 2022~!

Over 100 shows later, I'm still learning to this day. My merchandise has expanded to include things like tote bags, coasters, and enamel pins.... And I've travelled all over Canada and the US independently!

Why am I sharing this?

I actually owe a lot of my start to folks here on Newgrounds! (Hi, Tom!) The community here has been with me since the very beginning (I joined for the Art Portal back in 2009, got scouted by Mindchamber/Jose who was NG staff at the time,) and started tabling in 2011). Ever since I visited Newgrounds HQ to meet other artists at one of the Pico Day meetups, I've seen first-hand that being an independent artist is a perfectly attainable, possible career path, and the talented folks already doing it full-time gave me the courage to try and do it myself! It's a slow, difficult, steady grind, (of course) and the income is extremely unpredictable, but I love everything about it.

If anybody here is thinking about doing their first artist alley tables, I'm an open book! Hit me up with artist alley specific / questions anytime.

Just wanted to share and celebrate the progress.

The show goes July 15-17 and Anime Conventions are awesome places to encounter other artists / creatives.

Tickets are about 45$ per day, and the weekend pass is $70.

Hey Newgrounds! It's been a hot minute!

Hope you've all been safe + healthy!

I'm happy to announce that I'm finally back to my primary artist job of travelling to comic cons and artist alleys since the pandemic started. Feels really nice to be getting back to work after so long.. although international flights are still a little stressful.

Personal projects that got shelved for the pandemic are finally getting dusted off again, so I'm getting back to work designing new stickers, enamel pins, and that goofy 'Bird Crimes' Zine from a thousand years ago. Of course, I'll be posting all of that stuff here, so stay tuned! Already posted 1 or 2 new things in my gallery!

It's a small artist community, and we're a really active little cluster of ~150 creative people. It's called The Birdhouse!

Here's our September calendar: we're planning a bunch of Drink and Draw events on Saturday nights, and we usually do the odd drawpile, D&D session, or game night in between!
