Damn, that’s a lot of conventions you’re going to!
traveling outside your home???
this is unheard of and epic !!!
Busy little bee aren't you ;)
Wow...... Merveilleux! Wunderbar! 素晴らしい!精彩的!美妙!Meraviglioso! Well,At least you're prepared for this. I won't be able to head to Canada this year.. :( Unless, I get a higher paying job and meet my Current Love Interest [Which never heads to any Comic, Anime Horror and MLP Events] to sum things up, I don't have the courage like you do. Idk if I mentioned this before, but I have Social Anxiety. Yes, I gave you that secret mug as a gift because we're both creative and we both live in the west coast. I am from Atlanta, GA USA ?? and moved to the west in LA because of opportunities.
I won't be able to update my Convention Schedule, for this year. But, for those who are wondering, I will be heading to Dallas, TX USA ?? for Harmony Con Dallas. Yes, my love interest is also Canadian and same with my Celiac Ex-girlfriend. Let's just say my appearance is super limited compared to last year. Good Friends say "A plus tard, mon ami!" but creative pals say "A l’avenir, meilleur copain artistique!" I am still learning French, but at least I am trying to be fluent in that language too! I am also trying to learn Cantonese and Italian too!
Any chance you’ll be at Anime North this year?
It's on my list! I think applications open this coming weekend, so keep your fingers and toes crossed for ol' SAB!
Hell yeah! Looking forward to this. Gonna try and stop by at the Toronto comic-con as I've always wanted to visit your booth. The stuff you put out is fucking fantastic. I love your little duckling things.... But my God if you made a sweet pig I would lose my shit. Pigs are dope.
See you out in the wild!
Aw that would be great! Do you ever do artist alleys / art markets yourself? Toronto has TONS!
I will definitely come by your booth! How did you get approved for Fan Expo Canada so quickly? I applied back in November and I'm still waiting to hear back. Is there early application for return exhibitors? Just curious because I'm trying to get my first artist alley table.
Aw yay, lookin' forward to seeing you there, then! If you do find me, make sure you mention we're on Newgrounds so I remember! I'm happy to talk artist alley table stuff, too.
Fan Expo lets you renew your table for the following year if you're already a vendor, so that's how I managed a quick confirmation. If it eases your mind a little, they're notorious for taking forever to reply and confirm booths, so I'd wait until June-ish to hear back if this is your first time.
Best of luck though! I hope you get a good spot!
@Sabtastic Sure will, I've applied to a couple of the ones you listed after the summer. I still need a little more prep before I can have a table. Do recommend any other Canadian cons?
That's a bit of weight lifted off my mind, I had no idea what their process was like so it had a bit worried.
Thanks!
problaly. im not going to comic con this year in canada so sorry
awesome :]
Thinking of attending Calgary Expo, and will be attending Otafest. Never been to Toronto, how's Fan Expo Canada compare with the rest?
Nice! I'll see you there!
Calgary Expo is the 2nd largest con in Canada (95,000ish attendees), and Fan Expo Canada (150,000ish attendees) is 1st, so make sure you mask up and bring snacks! It gets squished in there!
Honestly I prefer the Calgary show, personally. Toronto just gets claustrophobic, and you still get awesome celebrity guests + things to see in Alberta, anyway!
Hope you enjoy yourself!
@Sabtastic Great, looking forward to it!
I'm pretty sure I attended Calgary Expo in the past in late 2021 but I can't for the life of me remember tickets being as high as they are now, even though it has supposedly stayed the same price. To be fair I guess my memory from back then is rather hazy too since I can't remember whether I went for the entire weekend or just a single day.
That being said, it already felt kinda crowded back then and they were apparently limiting it to "only" 25K tickets at the time...to expect to see almost 4 times that is unreal, hopefully there's not *too* much waiting in lines involved lol
