Headed to Anime North in Toronto this Weekend!

Hey all! I managed to get a Pro Plaza table at Anime North in Toronto this weekend! Come stop by if you're in the area!

The show goes July 15-17 and Anime Conventions are awesome places to encounter other artists / creatives.

Tickets are about 45$ per day, and the weekend pass is $70.

Here's an older artist alley table with some of my usual stuff for sale. I won't bring any fan art to this show, though; because Pro Plaza is specifically original art only.

Nice!

Have fun!

Thanks a bunch!! You guys have any big comic cons coming up in your area?

How expensive is it to have a booth? I want one someday. Id like to get a setup like yours except I wont sell anything. Its just there for browsing, NO TOUCH.

Ooh which country/state are you in? I could happily recommend some shows I've had good experiences at. This one is a bit INTENSE with rules, so it's not very beginner friendly, but the Pro Plaza 8ft table space costs $400 (Canadian) if you get in, but you have to apply with merchandise examples. Anime North has a ton of weird stipulations based on the art you make, too, so there's a crafters corner (3D sculptures, knitted wares, pearler beads etc), vendor hall (for stores re-selling official merch), artist alley (strictly paper prints only), etc. Pro Plaza is chill about what you sell, but it HAS to be your own original creations. No fan art.

ANYWAY; I know you were half kidding, but maybe this info will still be useful!

Damn. The one time I can't go and you're setting up shop. Grand shame.

I hope you get lots of fans/customers stopping by and buying up your works. You make some great stuff.

...On another note, do you do special requests by any chance? I can't say the thought hasn't crossed my mind for a Warhammer 40k rendition of a Duck talking about that big dakka or some good ol' fashioned WAAAAAAUGH.

Keep at it,
-CO

Aww, sorry to hear I'll be missing your visit!
Thanks for the well-wishes.

I haven't taken free art requests for aaaaaages, sorry! To be honest I don't even do paid commission / custom stuff anymore. It takes away from the time I need to make new merch for conventions, and that's what I want to keep as my main focus.

Cheers dude!

@Sabtastic California. Not kidding id like to see what happens. Maybe i drive up demand if i do it

OOhhh you're right by two of the hugest conventions in the entire world! Anime Expo and San Diego Comic Con! I'd apply to share a table with an artist buddy and see where it goes!
