I really love how dynamic the background and everything is, but I'm gonna be honest, it took me a while to realize what was going on in this picture. There's too much visual information all at once, and not enough depth to distinguish Butcherette in foreground. Now that I know what your Butcherette character looks like, (looked at the other image before this in your gallery) it all makes sense.

I think the fact that she doesn't really have a face is what threw me.

Just an observation: If you wanted to fix this to make the image more readable, you could use thicker line weight on Butcherette and add a bit of a silhouette or cast shadow to offset her from the rest of the background.

Keep up the great artwork!

Thanks! I'll be the first to admit this picture is lacking in a proper hierarchy. I kind of convinced myself to take this pic to the extreme and sort of lost track of it the more I worked on it. I still have the working file for this so maybe I'll revisit it with some varying line widths.

lol I can't get over the fact that you were drawing this while getting tattooed. Nice job!
Those extra little effects added on later really helped to bring it all together.

Oooo! Care to elaborate on the project you were doing? What were the objectives?

Love the finished look. It's beautiful!

Well we were required to utilize a grid and we had two choices. Either we did a landscape from a photo and included some stuff referenced from life or we could paint a collage that was still a landscape. I went with the collage. I blended three photographs together in photoshop and used that as a reference for this painting. I used tape to get the gridded effect which I wanted to look sort of like glass. :) Thanks!

Too cute! Love how minimalistic yet effective it is.

Haha NOOOO WAAAAAAAY
AWESOME

Castlevania's gotta be one of my favourite games of all time - can't wait to see what you guys do with it.
G'jerb!

deathink responds:

I plan to ruin the series. P.S. Castelvania: SOTN is one of the best games I have ever played!

Their design is really great and can teach a lot of over-achievers what is good and what is unnecessary . thanks for the comments and high scores pal!

Sooooo not rated E, but nice work with the animation.

Lovely work!
I love how you've represented the texture in her sweater and the curls in her hair.
Very realistic. c:

ZANKS HUN!

Nice work!
You've got a knack for drawing wrinkles on clothing. :)
Overall, I think the only thing that stands out as a bit off would be the proportions in his arms. The wrists and shoulders in particular could be adjusted, as well as the thickness of his neck. All in all, it's not overly distracting -- good job! c:

jennyleigh responds:

Thank you so much! :D I agree with his wrists they look squiggley so to speak lolol. And do you think his neck is too thin? And do you think the shoulders are too small or too big? lolol :) And you really think the wrinkles are good? I was winging it lolol. Tried my hardest while looking at some references online. I guess what they say is true that the artist themselves are the harshest critic because i thought the wrinkles weren't that great! haha :D Thanks for commenting!
