So, the NG Art Worm for 2011 was finally posted!! I know, it's already been floating around on Newgrounds since February, but this thing was started in 2007, so I lost track of waiting for it to be posted. Aynway--! I'm featured in there with some pretty amazing artists, such as some personal artist bros of mine, Nekow, BomToons, Stamper, Jouste, BizarroJoe and The Shadling.

Seriously, you should check it out. It's the longest single connected piece of artwork I've seen in a long time on Newgrounds! 60 different artists are featured in it! c:

lol the title makes it sound like I'm WAY more excited than I really am. It's actually 3am, and I have a cold, and school tomorrow, so I'm heading to bed right after this post. ._. Promise.

Anyway!! ...It's been a while since I've drawn something entirely inspired by you guys at Newgrounds! Big thanks specifically to JohnnyUtah, Mindchamber Stamper, and Luis for kicking off my inspiration with those MVC3 advertisements. It really got me itching to draw some more curvy ladies! Thanks also to JakBaronKing for adding to the hype and challenging me to some rounds, too!!

Check it out: Morrigan Aensland from Marvel vs. Capcom 3!

I DREW MORE BOOBS, COME SEE!

So, thanks to Jak's Idea, I mustered up the courage to post my very first art thread on the forums!
It's a pretty fun meme that I'm inviting everyone to do, where you match your name to a Pokemon and draw yourself as a Pokemon!!

[SABTASTIC'S Pokemon Persona Art Thread]

Originally, I bummed the 'Pokemon December' idea off of my internet bro, Ventastic. He came up with an awesome caricature of himself as a Gengar, so naturally, I had to make one, too.

GO CHECK IT OUT! :D

Here's what ours looked like!

I really can't thank you enough, guys! Thanks everyone for your generous donations, and support! (if you don't know what I'm talking about, check out my previous journal post)

In total, I raised $448.00 for the Edmonton Gorilla Run. Of which, $228.00 was ALL FROM NEWGROUNDS! ... Really. In all seriousness, you guys rock. THANKS AGAIN!

A total of three hundred and four participants showed up for the run, so we didn't qualify for the Guiness World Record, but hey! There's always next year! ... I'm pretty sure I'm going back again. lol
If you're interested in signing up for a Gorilla Run near you, visit their website or search "gorilla run" on google. It costs $100.00 and you get to keep the gorilla suit after, too!

THANKS TO JAKBARONKING FOR THE DONKEY KONG TIE IDEA!! lol

To everyone that made a donation and sponsored me for the run, I need your addresses! I'm mailing thank-you cards within the next week, so if you haven't given me your address already, please PM it to me now! :D

EDIT: 9/11/10: OMG RACE IS ONLY A COUPLE OF HOURS AWAY. WOO!

EDIT: 9/10/10: THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR DONATIONS AND SUPPORT!! I will no longer be accepting donations/sponsorships, seeing as the run is only a couple of hours away.
I've raised a grand total of $448.00 CDN thanks to the Newgrounds community, I completely DESTROYED my original goal of a mere two hundred and fifty bucks. c:

THANKS AGAIN, GUYS!
I'M RUNNING THIS SATURDAY MORNING, SO I'LL POST SOME PICTURES SOON!! :D

So... Us crazy Canadians have this little thing called The Gorilla Run:

On September 11th, 2010, I will run 5 kilometers in a gorilla suit around the Edmonton Valley Zoo, along with two friends, who will also be dressed up as gorillas!! The event is meant to raise money for the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund because there are only an estimated 740 mountain gorillas left in the world! :C

From now until September 10th, I will be actively seeking out people to sponsor me for this run to make a donation (any ammount that you feel is appropriate). My goal is $250.00, and in person, I've already pestered my friends, family and co-workers. If there is anyone out there who thinks it'd be awesome for Sabtastic to don a gorilla suit and go for a run, please, feel free to donate!!!! But please, before you do, carefully read the info at the bottom of this journal entry.

I'll be sure to post some pictures after the event takes place.

You can find more information about the Edmonton Gorilla Fun Run at:
www.edmontongorillarun.com

Wish me luck, y'all!! Thanks in advance for everyone's support!!!
(p.s: back from a two-month hiatus!! missed you guys!!)

Please send all donations via. Paypal before Friday Sept 10, 2010 to sab0d@hotmail.com.

THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU EVERYBODY FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY WISHES!!
I HAD MY 20th BIRTHDAY LAST WEEK, AND IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!

I got a whole bunch of awesome gift-art, not to mention, some of you guys were super generous, and even gave me gifts!! Wow!!

A Big thanks to JakBaronKing for sending me a big gift package all the way from Hawaii!!! I received it in the mail today, and am currently feasting on all of the goodies inside! There were a bunch signature Hawaiian treats, such as Marlin Fish Jerky (YUMMY!), three boxes of "Kauai (coffee) Kookies", two boxes of Hawaiian Host chocolates (drool), Tomoe Brand Rice crackers, a bag of Red Iso Peanuts, a bag of instant miso soup, litchi gummy candies (which I promptly devoured), Chocolate Pocky (also almost all devoured), Konpeito sugar candies, a pretty sea shell, and a nice decorative Plumeria flower!!

I was so impressed, I intend on sending back a package filled with some Canadian trinkets/goodies for his birthday to say thanks!! :D

THANKS AGAIN, JAK!!

Another very big thankyou to everyone to made me gift art!!! I intend on featuring everybody, but can only post one picture at a time, so for now, here are the two most recent from NG! :D

The cute caricature on the bottom left (as you might recognize) was drawn by my good friend and favourite artist, BizarroJoe! It was such a great surprise - I really love his style, and how cute and curvy he can make everything he draws. c:
It's on his dumping grounds if you wanna have a look-see, but I highly recommend checking out his gallery if you haven't already!!

The second one on the right is by none-other than the talented Nekow! Also a good buddy and favourite artist of mine, he painted this as a birthday gift, and I can't get over how well-done it is!! He's one of the best portrait painters I've seen in a long time, and I also highly recommend that you have a look at his gallery!!! He's got some srs skillz. The portrait itself can be found here!

SO THANKS AGAIN EVERYBODY!! <3
BEST 20TH BIRTHDAY EVER! :'D

Birthday Thankyou's!

SO, HOLY SHIT: AS OF TODAY, TWO DECADES OF SABRINA! THE BIG 2-0!

I'm back from a two month hiatus, too. I had this problem with internet explorer and couldn't upload new artwork here, so long story short, I switched to Firefox, and now I can update agaaain! yaaaaaay!!

NOW I'M BACK. I MISSED YOU GAIZ!

I haven't really planned anything bad-assed for my birthday yet... Canada's legal age is 18, so being 20 isn't really a big deal because you were allowed to buy liquor, porn and smokes years ago. I get to share my birthday with two friends, though!! Their birthdays are on 4-20, so we're just throwin' our parties into one big crazy birthday-bash.

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!

For the first time on friday, I decided to show up at a drop-in session for nude figure drawing (drawing naked people). I've been wanting to give it a try it for AGES, but was never really brave enough. So, seeing as a lot of people naturally share in that awkwardness or reluctance, I thought that I should share my experience!

Here's what I drew & how it went!
(don't worry, I picked some really G-rated sketches for you. Only butts.)

So, obviously, (scroll down) as you can see here, our model was female. Not the wrinkly old hairy/fat man I prepared myself to see. She was actually pretty too, so it lessened the awkwardness of it all. Now, this experience may vary. I'm not saying that everyone's going to get the ideal model on their first visit. For all I know, you could be that sorry sucker to end up with the old fat dude. So that's pretty much your only concern.

I was honestly so relieved that the model turned out to be of the same sex. I don't know if I'd quite have been ready for a stranger's wang in my face for four hours straight, being my first time and all... That's right. Four hours. D: Almost makes you feel sorry for the model, right? Trust me, though. It flies by. They're paid well, too. lol

Anyway, the session started off with a bunch of 2-5 minute "warm up" poses to sketch (the image on the right). Slowly the time limits increase to 10 minuntes, 15 minutes, and finally the last three or four 20 minute sketches (left). The poses change for every time limit, but the artist sticks to drawing the same model. Some places do it differently, I assume.

As far as medium type went, everyone had their own personal preference. The session was un-instructed, so nobody told you what to do, or critiqued your methods. I brought a mechanical pencil and sketchbook, but there were people there using card paper, charcoal, ink, you-name-it. One that caught my attention was the person sitting next to me, using an intuos 4 and his Mac. (note to self: bring tablet next time) Dx
His sketches turned out amazingly well, half because he was the only one capable of using such an accessable, limitless palette. Really made me want to come back for the sake of trying it all out digitally.

So, yeah! As you can see from the sketches, as long as you go in there with the mind-set that it's all for education, you'll quickly forget that you're drawing a total stranger in their birthday suit.

NOW THAT ISN'T SO SCARY, IS IT? c:
If you want to see more, i'll probably be posting the sketches on DeviantART.

TRIED NUDE FIGURE DRAWING (for the first time).

WARNING: ITS NOT REALLY THAT FUNNY.
(Edit: Added in the silouette of a hunter thanks to KillerDraco's idea)

This was supposed to be a small clip in the L4D Collab hosted by OnionsXD, but I'm pretty sure that fell through, so now i'm left with this pretty pointless, 25 second flash about Ellis being creeped out by that gnome from the valve games.

Thought I should show it to you guys anyway. B:

Happy Late Valentines Day!
