View Sabtastic's Travelling Sketchbook 2012-2015!

Posted by Sabtastic - July 25th, 2015

Every time I travel anywhere to visit with my art pals, I make a point of bringing a comically huge sketchbook with me so I can keep memoirs of my visit in bound sketchbook form! It makes for a great 100% unique souvenir, and I love looking back on the drawings I've been given because a lot of the people have since become prominent artists and animators!

Last week I FINALLY found a scanner big enough to scan all of the artwork I had amassed over the years and posted all 72 images on IMGUR.

Have a look! Maybe you'll see some familiar artists and characters!

Thats sooo awesomeee ^_^

Woah, all of those are so awesome!

Also, what scanner did you end up buying?

Hehe I actually just borrowed the huge office fax/printer/scanner where I work!

Loved Luis's drinking dreams one hahahah

Haha yeah CLASSIC LUIS

FUUUUUUUN

Yours is easily one of my favourites. I love your monster sketches! <3

This is absolutely fantastic!! What a great and fun idea!

Honestly I get so inspired just by looking through it and providing the opportunity for drawing with other artists - it's such a great thing to have around especially to use as an icebreaker.

Whoooa it's been so long since then, thanks so much for featuring it :D

Thank YOU for the sweet-ass artwork, Kirb! <3

Epically awesome (Mindchamber's sketch of u was way whoa)! Thanks for creating and sharing fellow Canuck Sab!:D

Amazing! Look at all those artists. :D Too bad I can't favorite a post.

Wow! love the diversity in your work!

Aw thanks!

It's sort of a hindrance when I want to keep my style consistent, but I guess it's a good thing to be flexible.

Good Stuff :)

Nice!

Makes me wish I went to the last year's Pico Day.

Wow, some really awesome art is here!

man i gotta draw more to be like these guys.
:[

Oh my the sweet memories are back! Thanks!

Aww, I was rather hoping for another Flash sketchbook! Maybe a Volume 3 someday?

Hehe MAYBE! I'm pretty overdue for one'a those.

I use a lot of loose-leaf paper these days so I can sell original work so it's harder to keep track of all my new stuff.

This is supremely cool. Thanks for sharing this :D Also, a fellow Canadian you say? Well, right on. I'm in Ontario myself. Good times and shitty prices... Aww yiss.

Have you and some of the NG crew ever thought of putting together an actual art book like this? Would be mad wicked to buy/own something along those lines. I just recently purchased one of Luis Royo's books and have been doing my best to 'behave' whenever I glance at the Frezzato and Milo Manara sections (I used to read a lot of heavy metal magazine back in the day. Stunning stuff) and the idea just popped into my head when I was flipping through this pile of brilliance.

Cheers,
