I've been meaning to go to Magfest. It's only a 1-2 hour drive. Only problem is who I go with and tickets. Anyways, enjoy your time at Magfest! Also can't wait to hear from you on the podcast!
Pretty sure you can grab tickets at the door...! They had huuuuge lines last year though; it's best to just grab them online first if you do plan on going. That line is always way quicker.

The only part about Magfest that is kind of a bummer this year is finding a hotel room for a reasonable price. I'm sure you could find somebody to split a room with though!
