The pre-programmed child in me just looks at the colour scheme you used here.
Fred's colours look really bright and heroic, while Miri's look darker / purple and almost villainous. The vest almost suggests evil scientist. :B (lolol jk)

I know she's not meant to be a bad buy, but if I were a little kid, colour would suggest a lot. Still - I like Miri's new outfit. Fred's pose is my fav too. B:

purefey responds:

But purple is her favorite colour, tho!

Really cute!!

The one thing that kind of bugs it though, is that the lighting just seems sort of 'slathered' over her..

Don't get me wrong! The colouring in general is phenominal -- but (in my humble opinion) you covered it up with way too strong of a dodge brush setting, when there should be some shadow to show that the character is 3d.

suwako responds:

thanks!

and yus, i agree with you! thanks for letting me know!

SWORD.

The thing that just blows me away in this piece Lunq's sword! I just had to stare at it for a minute, taking in the awesomeness that is .."Steve"! lol

And the magnetic scabbard..? SWEET. Never seen anything like it. *thumbs up*

Again, great concept. I really love it!

jouste responds:

haha great! so glad you dig it.

yes! another canuck! great artwork btw, us canadians gotta stick together!

the scabbard actually is the first thing i figured out on this guy, like before it was a guy it was a magnetic stasis scabbard, so i'm glad you've never seen anything like it! ;D

wowsers those are high scores! hooray!

*highfives*

Great Song

Love the pose, the expression, way you drew her back curved up like that. it all looks great. As usual!

.. The one thing that sort of bugs me, is the lipstick stamp in the background. It looks like it was blown up a little too big for what it was meant for, so it looks overly pixelated and distracts from the image.

BizarroJoe responds:

You were quite right with the lips... I first tried to draw my own, but it was taking me too much time. So I tried to soften a bitmap, but in the frenzy of the last minute, I sorta blinded myself and I didn't do a good job...

Thus, I've edited the image for great justice. I think it looks better now, but if it doesn't, don't hesitate in telling me!
I really appreciate your comment. Thank you for posting it!

Holy Dragons, Batman!

Astounding work - the picture is just RIFE with detail. I love it.
The white glowing eye of the dragon really magnetizes your eye to the center of the picture, too.

Don't ever stop!! <3

archir responds:

Thanks!

I know you via RJ on DA then. The pic you made for his contest was great I really loved arvalis expression. specially the lower lip

Anyway thanks again, i really appreciate it.

HAHAHA

That's classic, Mel.

"Oh there's a butt there. I better rate it 'M' so nobody gets offended!"

<did not 'get past that'>

lol Great work. I think the only reason I feel inclined to give this a 9 is the simplicity and lack of 'pop' from the wings blending a bit much. Other than that, it's great. :)

purefey responds:

apparently people think this is a useless review. Well I don't! And yeah I do notice that the background blends with the wings too much. :/

Honest to God --

When you showed me this, I was just kind of waiting for you to flip over to another picture and be like 'so THIS is what I drew of that guy!' I thought this was just an example you were showing me!

I hardly reacted to the pic because I couldn't even tell at first that you drew it!! lol
It's so out of your usual subject matter from what i've always seen.

So with that said, obviously I thought it was too good to be true. lol Great work.

purefey responds:

Thanks yooou! I sketched a lot of tiny creatures when I read this - I'm sure I have the paper somewhere. I love this comic because it has chars in it that I've never seen before or never thought of making up; for example, a creature had a plus sign on its nose, no arms, and it was called "bird" and sat on a swing. It's really cool!

WEEEEE <first>

BRUSH STAMPES EVERYWHURRRRR :V
I know it was probably intentional that she be tilted to the left slightly, but if I may be so humble, it may have looked a little less off-balance if she was standing straight up. C:

(just giving a good honest crit, seeing as I doubt you'll get many on here)

purefey responds:

Yeah, she was supposed to be leaning on her foot, but I could never get the legs right so I just cropped off the shot there. :3

You're on NG too?! :D

Well howdy neighbor!!

Loved your entry - glad to have stumbled upon you on here! C:

Madame-origami responds:

Oh HEY!
Howdy indeed, and yep, all the cool kids have an NG l3 How could I resist~?

Thanks <3

Fantastic

The colour really must have been a challenge to have blend together so flawlessly!
I love it!

Savory responds:
