Nice...! This style suits you well. c:

I love how much effort and detail was put into this piece. It turned out great!
The thick black outlines are a nice touch and echo the game's visual style, and each character looks consistent in terms of brush strokes and overall technique. I think the only thing that bugs me compositionally is that the top of the dragon was cut off at the top right, when everything else is so beautifully framed. I feel like it could have been used more effectively in that sense, but aesthetically it doesn't hurt the piece much.

Keep up the amazing work!

Thank you so much for your kind words and for featuring it, I really, really appreciate it!!!

I cropped the image as I felt otherwise the gods at the bottom were too far to the bottom of the piece. I understand what you mean though, I could have positioned the dragon's body a bit better to help with framing. Thank you for the critique!!

I really love how dynamic the background and everything is, but I'm gonna be honest, it took me a while to realize what was going on in this picture. There's too much visual information all at once, and not enough depth to distinguish Butcherette in foreground. Now that I know what your Butcherette character looks like, (looked at the other image before this in your gallery) it all makes sense.

I think the fact that she doesn't really have a face is what threw me.

Just an observation: If you wanted to fix this to make the image more readable, you could use thicker line weight on Butcherette and add a bit of a silhouette or cast shadow to offset her from the rest of the background.

Keep up the great artwork!

Thanks! I'll be the first to admit this picture is lacking in a proper hierarchy. I kind of convinced myself to take this pic to the extreme and sort of lost track of it the more I worked on it. I still have the working file for this so maybe I'll revisit it with some varying line widths.

lol I can't get over the fact that you were drawing this while getting tattooed. Nice job!
Those extra little effects added on later really helped to bring it all together.

Oooo! Care to elaborate on the project you were doing? What were the objectives?

Love the finished look. It's beautiful!

Well we were required to utilize a grid and we had two choices. Either we did a landscape from a photo and included some stuff referenced from life or we could paint a collage that was still a landscape. I went with the collage. I blended three photographs together in photoshop and used that as a reference for this painting. I used tape to get the gridded effect which I wanted to look sort of like glass. :) Thanks!

Man, I have a sketch JUST LIKE this one sitting in a book somewhere --- was gonna make a Valentine one for Skullgirls but I couldn't get the perspective to look right.

Did you have any trouble with the weird foreshortening that happens with the torso and the butt?
You make it work really well btw -- I can never find a good ref for this sorta pose so I'm totally gonna steal this one for reference later.

TheShadling responds:

The foreshortening always gives me trouble, I doubt I ever got it right, but that wont stop me from trying. Feel free to "steal" the pose and improve it.

Too cute! Love how minimalistic yet effective it is.

Haha NOOOO WAAAAAAAY

Castlevania's gotta be one of my favourite games of all time - can't wait to see what you guys do with it.
